Better Life Market, Lokpanta Just Got Cleaner!

Thanks to the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation for today’s Monthly Clean-up exercise. 



The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and community health with the successful conduct of its Monthly Clean-Up Exercise at Better Life Market, Lokpanta, Umuchieze, Umunneochi Local Government Area today. 


The exercise, held on Saturday, 30th August, 2025, was led by the Foundation’s Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Oguama David Ikechukwu, who commended members of the Foundation, traders, market women, and youths for turning out in large numbers to participate.


Activities carried out included sweeping of the market surroundings, desilting of drainages, proper waste disposal, and sensitization of residents on the need to maintain hygienic conditions within the marketplace.


Speaking after the event, Hon. Oguma David Ikechukwu, emphasized that environmental cleanliness is not only essential for healthy living but also crucial for economic activities. He noted that “a clean market attracts more buyers and enhances business opportunities,” while urging residents to sustain the culture of sanitation.


He further expressed gratitude to God for the vision granted to the Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, High Chief Oluebube A. Chukwu, Ph.D., praying that the Lord would continue to bless him as he impacts lives across communities in Umunneochi, Abia State.


The Deputy Mayor of Umunneochi, Hon. Igbo Chukwunonye, also expressed his appreciation, requesting that his goodwill be extended to Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu for his good gesture towards the people of Lokpanta. 


A stakeholder at Lokpanta, Mr. Madu Felix, also prayed for greater political heights for the Foundation’s principal, wishing him well and urging him to continue his good works. 


The people of Lokpanta expressed gratitude to The OACF for the clean up initiative and pledged their support to the foundation and her programmes. 


The Foundation’s monthly clean-up exercise remains one of her flagship initiatives which aligns with the Abia State government's initiatives to promote sanitation and environmental sustainability, demonstrating the power of collaboration between community-led efforts and government programs in creating a healthier and more livable environment for the people of Abia State.
