The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation has successfully carried out its April 2026 monthly sanitation exercise across five Local Government Areas in Abia State, recording strong community participation and stakeholder support.

The exercise, which covered schools, health facilities, and major public spaces, reflects the foundation’s continued commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness and grassroots development.
In Arochukwu, the LGA Manager, Mr. Enyinnaya Uyor, alongside Okwun Ward Coordinator, Aja A. Aja, led 55 volunteers to clean the premises of Uburu Primary School, Ihechiowa. The activity focused on improving hygiene within the learning environment while encouraging community involvement.

Similarly, at Achichi Elu Health Facility, 56 participants, led by LGA Manager Mr. Best Nwoke and Isiama Ward Coordinator Mr. Emeka Agwu Ekpu, carried out an extensive cleanup. The exercise received a significant boost with the presence of Programme Manager, Helen Mannic, who monitored the activity. Community members expressed appreciation to the foundation’s leadership for sustaining the initiative.
In Bende, 30 volunteers, led by LGA Manager Mr. Godswill Evans and Alayi Ward Coordinator Hon. Ihendu Igwe, conducted sanitation at Amaoku/Amakwu Primary School, Alayi, improving the school’s surroundings and promoting a culture of shared responsibility.

At Umunneochi, 68 volunteers were mobilized by LGA Manager Mr. Uwey Onyemachi and Ward Coordinator Friday Odoemenam to clean Obiagu Lekwesi Health Center in Umuchieze Zone 4.
The exercise also drew support from Zonal Coordinator David Oguama and his deputy, Onyekachi Nwankwo, highlighting its importance to the community.
Meanwhile, in Isuikwuato, 72 volunteers led by LGA Manager Mr. Anyachi Ndubuisi and Ward Coordinator Mrs. Kelechi Ike carried out sanitation along Nkwonta/Amawo Road in Mgbelu Umunekwu Community.
The initiative received backing from key stakeholders, including local political leaders, community heads, and youth representatives, who commended the foundation’s efforts.

Overall, a total of 281 volunteers participated across the five LGAs, underscoring strong grassroots mobilization and growing community ownership of the initiative. Beneficiaries included schools, healthcare facilities, and public roads, all of which experienced improved environmental conditions.
The April exercise further reinforces the foundation’s dedication to building healthier communities, promoting environmental sustainability, and encouraging citizen-driven development across Abia State.
