OACF Gets Rotary Club Of Umuahia’s Environment Ambassador Appointment, Pledges Stronger Green Initiatives In Abia
The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) has been appointed Ambassador for Environment of the Rotary Club of Umuahia for the 2026–2027 Rotary Year, in recognition of its sustained commitment to environmental sustainability, community development, advocacy and humanitarian service.
The appointment was formally acknowledged on Saturday, August 8, 2026, during the installation ceremony of the 46th President of the Rotary Club of Umuahia.
At the ceremony, the certificate of appointment and insignia were presented to representatives of the Foundation, marking a new phase of collaboration between OACF and the Rotary Club of Umuahia in advancing environmental protection and sustainable community development.
Representing the Foundation at the event were the OACF Programme Manager, Helen Mannic; Research Associate, Chinasa Onwuka; and Bende Local Government Area Manager, Mr. Godswill Evans.
The appointment, conveyed by the President of the Rotary Club of Umuahia, Rtn. Ijeoma Okwy-Irokanulo, was said to reflect OACF’s contributions to environmental sustainability through initiatives focused on tree planting, waste management, climate action, conservation and environmental education.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Programme Manager Helen Mannic expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Umuahia for the recognition.
Mannic said the appointment aligns with OACF’s vision, “Building Today for a Better Tomorrow,” stressing that environmental sustainability remains critical to creating healthier, safer and more resilient communities for present and future generations.
She further pledged that the Foundation would work closely with the Rotary Club of Umuahia to promote environmental protection and sustainability initiatives across Abia State.
The partnership is expected to strengthen collaborative efforts in areas including community sanitation, tree planting, responsible waste management, climate awareness, conservation and environmental education.
OACF described the appointment as both an honour and a call to greater service, reaffirming its commitment to strategic partnerships capable of creating lasting positive impact in communities across Abia State.
