OACF Honoured As Humanitarian Social Impact Maker By IHSD, UNITAR & CIFAL Nigeria

The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) has received another major recognition for its contributions to humanitarian service and social development, emerging as a recipient of the Humanitarian Excellence in Service Award in Abuja.

The Foundation was specifically recognised as a “Humanitarian Social Impact Maker” at the 16th Annual Humanitarian Public Lecture, Graduation and Induction Ceremony held on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The event was organised by the Institute for Humanitarian Studies & Social Development (IHSD), in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and CIFAL Nigeria.

The award recognises OACF’s efforts in humanitarian service, empowerment, community development and initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for vulnerable and underserved members of society.

The ceremony, held under the theme, “Resilience in Action: Strengthening Ethical Leadership, Inclusivity and Humanitarian Values in Nigeria,” brought together dignitaries, humanitarian professionals and development stakeholders from across the country.

Among those who graced the occasion were former First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Dame Patience Jonathan, represented by Hadiza Usman; former Kaduna State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who chaired the event; and Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Multilateral and Donor Agencies and Head of the Abia State Liaison Office, Hon. Odinaka Eric Eme.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Gregory University, Prof. Uwaoma Kalu Uche.

The President/Chairman of the Governing Council of IHSD is His Excellency, Amb. Adamu Babangida Ibrahim, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea, while the Registrar/CEO of the Institute is Amb. Prince Francis Origa, Ph.D.

The latest honour adds to OACF’s growing record of humanitarian engagement and serves as recognition of its ongoing efforts to promote empowerment, social inclusion and community transformation.

For the Foundation, the award is both a celebration of its past contributions and a renewed call to deepen its commitment to humanitarian service and positive social impact.
