Amuda Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA — November 28, 2025
In a powerful display of community spirit and civic responsibility, The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) on Saturday, November 28, 2025, carried out its monthly sanitation exercise at Eke Isuochi Market in Amuda Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
The initiative, which attracted over 63 volunteers, brought together OACF members from Zone 2—including Amuda, Umuaku, Mbala, and Achara communities—alongside market traders and residents who enthusiastically participated in the early-morning clean-up.
The exercise, a core component of OACF’s commitment to environmental stewardship, saw volunteers clearing refuse, desilting water channels, sweeping market pathways, and sensitizing traders on proper waste disposal practices. For many residents, the event was both timely and impactful, given the market’s central role in local commerce and daily livelihood.
Commending the effort, Chief Elder Sunday Madu, a notable market stakeholder and long-standing trader, praised the foundation for sustaining such a transformative initiative.
He further prayed for God’s blessings upon the founder and encouraged continued public support for the foundation’s activities.
Also speaking during the exercise, the Public Relations Officer of the Amuda Town Development Union (ATDU), Mazi Ebuka Ibekwe, who represented the President General, expressed gratitude to the foundation for choosing Eke Isuochi Market for this month’s exercise.
The Zonal Coordinator of OACF (Zone 2) Ezinwa Don-silas Anumba addressed volunteers and stakeholders, emphasizing the foundation’s belief that a clean environment is directly connected to community wellbeing and socio-economic progress.
In his remarks, Mr. Ken Ifo of Mbala Ward, a pioneer member of the foundation, reaffirmed OACF’s commitment to sustaining the monthly sanitation exercise and expanding its interventions across Umunneochi.
Saturday’s sanitation exercise underscores the growing influence of The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation as a grassroots development driver in Umunneochi. The foundation, known for its empowerment programs, health outreach initiatives, and educational support, continues to demonstrate that meaningful change often begins with simple, consistent actions.
As the volunteers concluded the clean-up, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and renewed commitment. Many traders expressed hopes that the exercise becomes a model for market-based sanitation management across the LGA.
With increasing participation and visible positive impact, the OACF monthly sanitation project is gradually becoming a unifying platform for communal action and environmental responsibility.
